An impressive photograph from the 1893 Columbian Exposition, also referred to as the Chicago World's Fair, celebrating the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage to the New World in 1492. The Exposition was the first all-electric fair, illuminating the night with 100,000 bulbs using Nicola Teslas' alternating current (defeating Edison and his direct current for the contract) which set the standard for the future of electricity transmission. This photograph captured the "White City" illuminated at night. The overall piece measures 5 1/2" x 7 1/2". Near mint
